Reflections and Eulogies
A Tribute from Dan Donovan:
Hello Friends of Bobby-
Bob was a good friend of mine, going back to the 11th grade. In fact, Bobby helped me get my first "real" job, at Standard Shoes on La Cienega. (The Beverly Center is there now.) Fresh out of high school, I thought it was great working with my pal Bob. But the second day I was there, Bob got in a fight witth the Manager, Harrold Rubenstein, and got fired on the spot! But Bobby was right, and he stood up for himself, and I had to respect and admire him for that. Work was a lot less fun without Bobby :-(
Bob also taught me how to fish, and I will always be grateful to him for that. Every time I fish, I will remember my friend. He had great expressions- "Hook up like Mad!", "Go with what you know, not with what you think you know." "Danny, Danny, Danny".
Yeah, he had his problems, but we all do. He was a great guy, and I'll miss him tremendously. | |
